Agape — Aaron Dressler
Matthew 5:46
S If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
O Jesus challenged his disciples to love people unconditionally, especially their enemies. He asks them what type of risk would there in loving those who care for you. The disciples must have noticed Jesus’ interaction with people, especially those in need and immediately new what He meant by these questions. Jesus questioned their motivation and inquired if they recognized that even the tax collectors loved those who love them.
A How tough is it to love and have compassion for someone who is different from you? I know I am guilty of lacking sympathy for people with a certain types of personality. It is so difficult to love them unconditionally. Jesus makes it very clear how easy it is to love those we already love. We need extend grace and love those who might be outside of our comfort zone. As we do this, God will begin to use our lives to help others know the depth of His love.
P Jesus thank you for the example you gave us. I ask You will give me the ability to extend the grace and patience I need to love unconditionally. I want to fight for those relationships around me and seek Your strength as I am used to bless others around me.
Love, Aaron

Aaron,
As I read your journal entry, I thought about you and think you do a wonderful job of making people feel loved and welcomed. The things that you are working out in your feelings with the Lord are manifested in your graciousness to those around you. You are a blessing…to your family and your church family.
