To God First — Nicole Barreiro

Judges 10:10

S Then the Israelites cried out to the LORD, “We have sinned against you, forsaking our God and serving the Baals.”

O The Israelites had a history of “doing evil in the eyes of the LORD” (vs. 6) by serving other gods. They would continually get into difficult situations by not looking to Him for guidance in their lives. Then, when they were at the end of their rope, they would call out to God for help.

A Do I, like the Israelites, forget about God when all is well? Do I treat God as my last resort? Sometimes I get so wrapped up in my daily life/ problems that I don’t put God in the CENTER of my daily life. When I don’t go to Him first, I am neglecting Him just as the Israelites did.

P Lord, please forgive me for using you as my “last resort”. Give me the wisdom to go to you first, every day, all day. Help me keep my relationship with you close and hold it dear/not take it for granted. I love you Lord and never want you to feel neglected by me. Amen!

It’s like having an illness that requires daily meds…when the meds are working, we feel good and stop taking them and end up crashing down. I think as a parent I find greater joy when my girls come to me with love and honor for no reason. I’m pretty sure He feels the same. Very nice journal…43 stars. You rock.
