Galatians 5:4

S For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.

O God calls us to Him through Christ Jesus, not through good deeds or good behavior; not through following the law or doing what He commands. Our relationship with Jesus Christ is the only true way to Heaven.

A As I read Deuteronomy and hear every law imaginable given to mankind, it seems to me that life may get to be complicated at that point. We, as Christians, are always trying to do the “right” thing, stay as perfect as we can possibly be, or even go as far as to look down upon others who may not even know the God we know. Yes, we have been called to be obedient, to respect, and to love, but God tells us we will never even know what it is to do these things without knowing how Jesus accomplished them. Jesus was, and is, the greatest teacher we can ever learn from. Through him we will find why we obey, how to respect, and what true, genuine love is. God does not care what we are doing, He only cares that we do it in Christ’s name. Satan also knows the laws and the scripture; don’t get caught up in good deeds and going through the motions of Christianity, let’s get entangled in Jesus Christ!

P Lord, thank you for your Son that I may know what it is to love you. I pray my relationship with Christ grows as it not only helps me understand my role here on earth, but also prepares my heart for eternity. Amen
