Promises…
Genesis 9:12-13
S And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come. I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.”
O After having wiping out all life on the planet with the exception of Noah, his family and the animals on the ark, God makes a covenant (oath, promise) with Noah and all the living creatures , for all generations to come, to never do this again. Not because he thought that now the problem of sin would have been taken care of, ( which of course it did not), but because he loved his creation, Man. There were no strings attached to this promise God gave, only that of his grace, mercy and love.
A I love that God gave us the rainbow as a symbol of His love. When ever I see it’s beauty it so quickly reminds me of not only His love for me, but of his amazing faithfulness, and trustworthiness . He makes promises that he never breaks. He can always be trusted! How blessed are we to live in the Pacific Northwest, where we get to see so many rainbows.
P Father, you are an amazing God. Thank you for your beautiful display of who you are in my life, My God whom I can always count on and trust to bring me through the storms of my life and will give me a beautiful rainbow at the end if I will just believe and trust.
Love, your daughter
