Life could be a very long journey but we don't know until we get to the finish line. Therefor, we need to bring all the oil we can carry to keep our lamps lit. The only way to fill our oil jug is to stay close to God in His word. I, myself, often feel that I need to have oil for others to share but it's not that God tells us to look out for ourselves but we can't supply the oil for other, it's impossible. This scripture is one of my favorite bible parables. Thank you for the great word!
