Messengers of the Lord of Hosts — Andy Papendieck
Malachi 2:6-7
S True instruction was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness and he turned back many from iniquity. For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of Hosts.
O God holds up Levi as an example of how a priest should conduct his life as he served God’s people. Lips that preserve knowledge result in many being turned back from sin. Possessing great knowledge alone would not qualify him to walk in such an effective, annointed way. He “practiced what he preached”, walking in God’s peace and uprightness as he lived out what he taught.
A How easy it can be to hear God’s truth taught with skill out of a life of obedience and let it slip away from my heart and mind. I need to hold tightly the lessons of His word, apply them to my life and see them preserved on my own lips. It is so uplifting and encouraging to learn from leaders who are not only gifted in God’s word, but also obedient to that word in their lives. ( Thanks Gabe and Ryan!) I must make a conscious choice to allow those leaders that God has placed in my life to move me toward uprightness and away from my natural, carnal way. I want my own lips to preserv knowledge, a knowledge that has grown out of an obedient life that is consisitent with what I profess to believe.
P Dear Lord, help me to grow deeper in the knowledge of Your ways. May my lips preserve Your truths and turn others toward you. Help me to receive the instruction of those who have preserved Your knowledge on their lips, serving as Your messengers to keep me turning toward you.

WOW, I am not sure what to say. My heart completely agrees with you, for I desire the same.

Your prayer is also my prayer — yes, to preserve God’s truth to turn others toward God!
Andy, you also have been one of those leaders in my life wo has been obediant to the Word in your life. Thank you for blessing my life and being a great example to follow.
